Prayer… the face in the satellite dish

Carved elm. An intentionally ambiguous title, as prayer can be a person or an action. This is a face reflected in a satellite dish. Whose face is it?

This is a foam sculpture of an obsolete technology. This is an impression of the Denge Sound Mirror on Orford Ness. This was an auditory precursor or radar.

This is the result of packing the foam above in sand, and filling the foam with molten aluminum. I was inspired by Pope Frrancis to re-title this as “Mysterium Lunae”.
